Dallas Drake retires

By Team NHL | July 16, 2008

Dallas Drake of the Detroit Red Wings has retired after sixteen seasons. He wanted to go out on a high note and what better way to do this than by winning the Stanley Cup last season. When the Red Wings defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 of the Stanly Cup finals in June, Dallas Drake was the second player to raise the Cup, after captain Nicklas Lidstrom. To recap Drake’s NHL accomplishments: He has 177 goals, 300 assists and 885 penalty minutes in 1,009 regular-season games and 14 goals, 19 assists and 79 penalty minutes in 90 playoff games.
